Our Services
Direct BCBA Led ABA
Therapy takes place where life happens and learners and families are most at ease or need practice. Home is often the best place to teach new behaviors in an environment that can turn newly developed skill sets into positive routines.
One-to-one ABA services should also be provided in libraries, after-school programs, and the community, to practice acquired skills and to meet the unique and changing needs of our learners.
Parent Led
Caregivers work together with their BCBA to develop a program that feels approachable and sustainable. Families learn together the skills to implement it like a pro. This begins with a positive, collaborative relationship based on trust and the feeling of being part of the decision-making process rather than the recipient of a treatment plan.
Peer Groups
Social skills are vital to making and maintaining friendships. Being part of a community requires starting conversations, listening while others share, and responding to nonverbal cues as well as both showing empathy and self-advocacy. This can be not only difficult and confusing but punishing for some.
Taking a values-based approach increases the likelihood that true relationships can be made rather than just teaching someone to carry out the steps of a treatment plan.
Social skills support begins individually and expands to include peers. Peer groups may take place in the home, community, Telehealth, or a hybrid of all three.
Other Services
Parent Training Groups- Parent training groups are offered to build community, increase fun and motivation, learn from each other, and reduce cost.
School Collaboration- Our team provides assessments for behavior that interferes with learning, as well as direct supplemental ABA services and staff training on approved school sites.
Toilet Training- Potty training can be a challenge for parents and children with and without ASD. Third Wave ABA works with each family to design a program that is sustainable and is there every step of the way to answer questions as the family carries it through.
Sleep Issues- Sleeping patterns affect the entire family. Let’s face it, when we don’t sleep well, and regularly, it’s a problem. The Third Wave ABA Sleep program assesses the barriers, trains parents to implement effective sleep training, then provides the support needed for maintaining the skill.
Sensory, Tantrum, and Over-Adapted Behavior Challenges- Humans can be incredibly resourceful. When communication and social skills are lacking, we often establish behaviors that get needs met in whatever way works. At some point, these behavior patterns can become a burden to ourselves and others. Autistics are at a greater risk of alienation from the people and activities that matter to them. Third Wave ABA applauds the strength and tenacity of our neurodiverse population and seeks to teach new behavior patterns that serve them better based on what they care about.
